Gender Selection For Baby Boy And Baby GirlDetermining baby’s gender before conception has been a hot topic for long time. Many people don’t care, but many others have a preference of the gender for all kinds of reasons. In my case, I had always wanted to have a girl and a boy, and preferably the first one to be a girl, as I thought being a big sister helps prevent some natural fragility in a girl.

When I conceived my first I didn’t go with any gender selection method, although I did choose the year and astrology sign the baby would be born at. It turned out to be a girl. 2 years later when I planned to have my second, I got serious about gender selection. I wanted a boy for this time.

I researched different natural gender selection methods on the Internet, and also asked around from people who had success getting what they wanted. I decided to go with 3 NATURAL methods combined. And I had a boy, on with the birth year and astrology sign I chose.

Sharing the methods below, those of you who plan to have babies in the future and who have some thoughts about decorating a little prince or princess: whether you believe in it or not, these are not much hassle to try. I know someone who tried 1+2 but failed, but I’ve not heard of someone who tried 1+2+3 and failed. I would be interested in knowing your counter result if any.

Method 1 – FOOD:
For having a boy, starting at least 1 month before the conception, the man should eat mostly acidic food, the woman should eat mostly alkaline food. When the woman’s body is more alkaline, the cervical fluid will be more conducive for the sperm that carry the Y chromosomes that are needed to fuse with the eggs to conceive a baby boy. For having a girl, the diet pattern should be reversed.

If you’ve never paid attention to what kinds of food are alkaline or acidic, you can find tons of info on the Internet, and here is one example chart:

This seems to be a more “well known” method, that to conceive a boy the time of intercourse should be as close to (of course needs to be before) ovulation time as possible. The theory is that the sperm with the Y chromosome (“boy sperm”) generally has higher mobility and shorter life, and the girl sperm has lower mobility and longer life.

If you want a girl, then the intercourse should take place days (“girl sperm” could live up to 5 days in a woman’s body) before but be avoided when it’s close to ovulation time. There are devices sold at pharmacy stores that accurately predict ovulation time.

It’s said that positions also matters. And this article gives an detailed explanation:—positions-to-conceive-a-baby-girl&id=1551945

This involves a little $, but I felt the increased chance is worth the money. Detailed information is at After I signed up and provided my data, I received a detailed chart of which days in which months give me higher chance of having a boy and which give me a girl. They claim their success rate to be 97.7%. It’s hard to prove from the data I could collect but I contributed to their success results.

Here is a excerpt from their site:

“Dr. Jonas has discovered that under certain circumstances the bio-chemical environment of the endometrium is subject to certain periodic variations and that these in turn lead to sedimentation of the sperm. Our method teaches that there are some days in woman’s fertility cycle where she can conceive a BOY only and days where only a GIRL can be conceived.”
