A Relaxing Bubble Bath With Candles And WineGuest post by Claudia Lopez

How to plan the perfect evening along with a relaxing bath? Rule #1: Look forward to it!

Most of us have a day that consists of pretty much the same routine: work, kids, dinner, etc. What better than to “look forward” to the end of the day  a.k.a “blissful bath”.

Below I will guide you into entering an evening of indulgence, where you can take yourself to total relaxation.  From the time we wake up in the morning to the time we go to sleep, our schedules are packed to the hilt. We are so busy trying to be everything for everyone else, we forget about ourselves. We take so much pride in trying to make sure everyone else is taken care of.  So why do we not make the time to do something for ourselves?

Our health depends on our ability to slow down- heart disease is still the number one cause of death in the United States, and stress greatly contributes to our risk of heart problems.  So block out one hour of your evening and schedule a date with yourself- a bath date!
No kids, no work, no spouse, no phone calls/emails, no stress! Look forward to it.

The best thing about taking a bath is that no one will interrupt you. A bath is essential. Not only will it be a wonderful way to cleanse your body and mind but it will also decrease your stress level. That’s the key. Plan it, it does require some preparation, not just any bath will do the trick. Ideally, all of your senses will be invigorated. You need to take certain steps to make the perfect bathing experience. Here are some ideas that will get you started…

LIGHTING:
Dim lighting will set the mood. Two or three candles will do just fine.

TUNES:
Relaxing music of course. If you are a fan of Pandora Radio I suggest Sagama, Liquid Mind or Anugama Radio.

HYDRATION:
A glass of wine of your choice plus a tall glass of ice water.

SCENTS:
Aromatherapy is often used to heal, renew and relax. Choose your scents carefully and make sure that they match your mood. My first recommendation would be lavender. Lavender is the most universal , for all skin types too. Excellent for total soothing properties. However, if you need some breathing effects and could use some body circulation, dip into a bath with peppermint or eucalyptus. Shop the essential oil section at Whole Foods or your local spa. My favorite are the Aura Cacia, you can find 100% essential oils at a very reasonable price.

SALTS/BUBBLE BATH:
Salts and bubble bath are crucial for the perfect bath experience. It gives you a sense of privacy within yourself, keeping all your insecurities and imperfections invisible. Salts are awesome not only because they add an incredible silky feeling to your skin but they too are also aromatic and can add a beautiful soft touch. Bubbles..no need to explain, its a must. For best results take a handful of your favorite salts and bubble bath and hold under running water as you fill your tub.

EXTRAS:
Bath pillow, eye mask, hydrating facial products.
